Lando Norris

Lando Norris havde allerede flere mesterskabstitler med i bagagen, men i slutningen af 2016 skete der noget banebrydende for den unge englænder fra Bristol. Han vandt den prestigefyldte McLaren Autosport BRDC Award.
Præmien for at vinde bestod i, at Norris skulle udføre betalt simulatorarbejde i McLarens F1-simulator. Han ville endvidere få adgang til teamets fitness-program, samt testkøre en McLaren F1-bil.
McLaren blev hurtigt imponerede over Norris’ arbejde, og i starten af 2017 tilknyttede de ham deres junior-program. Samme år deltog Norris i testen i Ungarn, og satte andenhurtigste tid af alle. Tre måneder senere udnævnte McLaren ham så til officiel test- og reservekører.
Norris var sikker vinder af F3 i 2017, og sluttede toer i F2 i 2018-sæsonen. McLaren var ikke i tvivl om, at de havde et af sportens mest lovende talenter. Derfor skyndte teamet sig også at give Norris et F1-sæde til 2019-sæsonen.
Norris kvalificerede sig som nr. otte i sin første kvalifikation, og fik en placering som nr. seks (og dermed point) i sit andet F1-løb. Dermed fik Norris en stærk start på F1-karrieren.
I 2024 sæsonen blomstrede Norris for alvor op, samtidig med at McLaren raceren midt på sæsonen fik vendt sin performance rundt og pludselig kunne kæmpe med om sejre. Norris blev nummer to i VM og er nu blandt favoritterne til titlen i 2025.
